ARTIST DRYDEN GOODWIN SELECTED FOR BATTLE LIBRARY COMMISSION
Artists in the City is delighted to announce the appointment of artist Dryden Goodwin to undertake the Battle Library Commission. The project is funded through a contribution from Tesco as part of the development of their Portman Road store. An important part of the brief is to involve the local community and to reflect the social, cultural and historical context of the library and West Reading. Against strong competition, Dryden Goodwin was chosen for his considerable experience in engaging with particular communities. The selection panel were impressed with the range and quality of the final works in his recent projects which include 'Linear' - 60 portraits of London Underground staff from the Jubilee Line at work, and 60 short films of the drawings being made - commissioned by Art on the Underground.
